Pink Saturday!

In the lovely tradition begun by How Sweet The Sound, I am introducing Pink Saturdays.

You may not know this about me yet, but I am a bit of a pink enthusiast.  Now, don't go all overboard and think I dress in all pink and have a pink, foofy house filled with pink puff balls and dyed lace curtains.  I'm still a normal person . . . we all are . . .

There are many of us, you know.

Each Saturday, I will share a picture of something pink.  This week, I share my favorite pink thing that I own.  Well, is it my true favorite?  Well, let's just say today it is.  I have so many wonderful pink things.

So, without further ado, my vintage pink wall-mount dial telephone:

It is in working condition and has a real bell inside that rings -- sounds so much nicer than today's digital rings.  It also has the original owner's telelphone number in that center circle.  My son is always after me to call it . . . little does he know how tempted I am sometimes.

It resides on my kitchen wall -- part of which is pink.  Most of the wall is actually two other shades of gray; the colors in my kitchen being pink, gray, and black, mostly.

That is an original photograph of my grandfather and his brother when they were young men in the 1930s. I love it.

(Ignore the object above that . . . I believe that would qualify for its own separate post some Saturday!)

So there you have it, pink thing #1.

And a big pink hug and kiss to any new visitors who stop by to see it!

Welcome to Pink Saturday. Oh yes I do love your ringy dingy phone. In fact I have one in bright bustard yellow in my art studio I bough next door at a yard sale for 8 bucks and when our elec is out and the cordless won't work I use it and everyone says I sound like I'm in a tunnel. I love my old phone though. You've got a happy blog and I'll be back to visit. Mollye

We had a phone like that - not pink but the same. My sister had pink princess phone - remember those?

I don't have much in the way of pink; I'm a guy! But it was neat to see that pink phone. We had a boring black wall phone while I was growing up. Pink would have given everyone something to talk about!

LOVE your post. I, too, have a pink phone for Pink Saturday. Great idea to have that photo of your grandfather so close to the phone.

I love, love, love your blog!

We had a black phone like that in our kitchen but with a longer cord. My fondest memory [tee-hee] is throwing the receiver at my older brother who was bothering me while I was talking to my boyfriend. My brother called me 'fatty' {can you imagine?} and it infuriated me. Bull's eye, baby...I hit him square in the back with the receiver and he hit the floor!! I thought I'd killed him!! LOL I told Mama it was just reflex but was restricted from the phone for a week!!! However, my brother NEVER bothered me when I was on the phone again!!

Thanks for the memory!

Renee, welcome to Pink Saturday! Your phone is awesome . . . I wish they still made them that way, although it is nice to not be attached to a cord!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your kind comments! It was nice to have you visit!

Thanks for sharing and Happy Pink Saturday!

Blessings,
Teresa

Hi, Renee,
Welcome to Pink Saturday! Yes, I remember that kind of phone well. It looks very much like the one I talked on all the time as a teenager in the sixties! Blessings to you! Vicki

Welcome to Pink Saturday! I'm just now making my rounds. LOVE that phone-we had the same one but in boring beige! I got an old black telephone at a garage sale that has the original number on it. I have the phone in my bedroom & my friend teases me that if I ever need to call 911 I'm going to take too long! Please come & visit my blog-I'm doing a giveaway that closes on Friday, 10/23.
Hugs, Leslie

Welcome to your first Pink Saturday, Renee.

I remember those phones from when I was a child, but I don't think we ever had a pink wall phone. This is a great treasure.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciated your comment on my owl purse. I actually am thinking of starting an Etsy shop in the future, but haven't yet.

Welcome to Pink Saturday. I've only been at it for 2 wks - so just a little ahead of you. Your phone is really cool. I'd love to find one of those.

Have a great week.
