WE WON!!
Chickens remain legal in my city!
It was a beautiful thing to watch. It was a unanimous decision. All five council members spoke and once they had finished, our argument had been reiterated and agreed with in total and our petty neighbors had been scolded.
The defeated neighbor left the meeting room in a huff before he could congratulate us.
Thanks to all who lent their support along the way. It certainly helped propel us.

Congrats. Our city had the same issue recently, and only reached a compromise. We are limited to a certain number in each neighborhood, with a grandfather clause attached. I personally don't want chickens, but I am NOT for stopping others.
Now that's fan-clucking-tastic! Good for you. We had over 10 roosters at one time....not any more. But we never had any complaints even about the crowing.

Thanks for fighting the good fight. It just makes it easier for anyone that ants to enjoy chickens.
Waahoo! Congrats!!
Yay!

WooHoo!!!
Woohoo! I'm so glad. I always worry that another town might set a negative precedence that all towns will follow. I think you should take your neighbor a dozen fresh eggs...or, you could fill a paper bag with chicken poop and...Nah, that might be too juvenile. Plus, your chickens still need you to be around for feeding time!
Congrats!

YIPPEE !!! give 'em some eggs to REALLY rub it in !
Yay! The other day I saw a whole Martha Stewart episode dedicated to chickens and how there has been a recent rise in the popularity of people keeping chickens. Sounds wonderful to me!
Glad to be back to reading blogs and blogging again! I will check back with you again soon! :)
Congratulations. I think most people are realy fed up with petty rules and regulations. Here in the UK, those of us wo live in the country are in a constant 'battle' with newly arrived 'townies' who want street lighting put in. We like it dark, we can see the stars. Others, of course complain about cocks crowing, and one even objected to the 'morning chorus' as it woke her up. Better the sound of birdsong than the revving of car and truck enigines, So down with the petty complainers and up with the 'freedom seekers' lol
Did the defeated neighbor have egg on his face? LOL!
Glad things worked out for you and the chicks.
Yay!! I'm so happy for you....even if it would have been giraffes. I'm glad your neighbor didn't win. They are just mean.
They will never take our chickens away..., never ah say.
A battle won..., congratulations.
That is so awesome! Restores my hope in the possibility of not losing all of our freedoms.
