Happy Birthday To Me

Well, that's it.  I'm 40.

It all happened yesterday.

Do I look any different?

I can't say I feel any different.

Not that I'm complaining about my age.  I made an agreement with myself years ago that I would never resent the age I was.  When I was 28 years old, I lost a friend to a motorcycle accident; we were both only a month out of law school.  That put things in a perspective that I have never forgotten.

No, I'm not complaining . . . just a bit shocked, that's all.  Some numbers get your attention more than others.

Okay, that said, onward ho!

It's taken a lot of years to get this young . . . and I'm not going to miss a minute of it.

Happy Birthday! Welcome to the Forty-something club! I can honestly say that my 40's are my best decade so far! My children are fun, I have lots of time for creative endeavors, I don't care so much about the size of my @$$, and I always find something to smile and laugh about...usually myself! Enjoy your 40's!

Happy Birthday! Well, I have about 20 years on your 40, so think about that for awhile.
I still feel like a big kid and I'm happier than ever!

I understand what you're saying completely!.. except I keep creeping a little closer and closer to the big "50", and I REALLY can't believe THAT! (0; Well, forget the numbers, and just enjoy it, right?! You're as young as you feel! Happy Birthday and many happy returns! Wishing you all the best in 2010! ~tina

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I can't believe I'm a few months OLDER than you!! LOL LOL

I keep waiting for 40 to "kick in" but for the life of me I have no idea what that is!

My daughters say I need to "grow up" and again I say for the life of me I have no idea what that is!!!!

May you only get better with age.....because your not getting any younger! LOL LOL

Happy Birthday! Aw, you are just a baby : )......So much life ahead of you. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for your encouraging comments. I have missed hearing from you. It's bitterly cold here, so I am hunkering down inside and crafting. It is great fun. I got to do some sewing with my almost 21 yr old dd yesterday. It was great. Hope you have a wonderful new year!

Blessings,
Tricia

I turned 33 this year. I immediately thought, "That's the same age that Jesus laid down his life!"

Thanks, everyone, for the fun and funny comments and wishes!

Anna -- If I can stop worrying about the size of my a$$, then 40 will be well worth it!

Randy -- When my DH turned 34, I, being 7 years younger than him, thought it was hysterical to point out he was "older than God." LOL! Not quite so funny to me now. Take it from me, Randy, you're a kid yet!

Happy Belated Birthday, Renee'! 40 is a terrific milestone . . . you're still young, but wise enough to know the difference! LOL!

Hope the year ahead is a great one for you filled with love, laughter, happiness and joy!
