Death of a Kiss

Edith Shain died yesterday at her Los Angeles home.

Don't know Ms. Shain?

Sure you do.

She showed us all how to give in to the moment and receive a great kiss:

Long live the spirit of joy, romance, and patriotism depicted in this V-J Day kiss, circa 1945.

It was a happy time for our country and this photo is the epitome of the era. This is why I love photos.
Wonderful and historic!
I hope she was proud of this picture.

I could use a kiss like that right now...been a hard day. That's a favorite photo of mine, though I didn't know her name. It just captured the joy and celebration and gratitude of our country so well. Yes, hopeless romantic here...

Aw, bless her heart. Who hasn't seen this photo and smiled? She will always be remembered for that moment in time.

Hi Renee'
I love this photo! We're fortunate to have a sculpture (26 FEET tall)of this captured moment in Sarasota. Here's a link in case you'd like to see it. http://attractions.uptake.com/blog/valentines-day-kiss-sarasota-florida-2420.html
How wonderful!
(You should post this for The Wedding Blog Party: http://angelicaccents.blogspot.com/) hosted by Stephanie of Angelic Accents! Only criteria is that it be romantic OR wedding. This would fit!

I can't imagine the excitement that was 'in the air' in 1945. What an iconic photo!
