I do believe I've seen blueberries coming around in the grocery stores, so I will share this simple, but wonderful recipe with you all.
Blueberry-Buttermilk Sherbert
2 c. fresh blueberries
1 c. sugar (sometimes I use less if the berries are sweet enough)
2 c. buttermilk (I usually use fat-free!)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Process blueberries in a food processor until smooth, scraping down sides as needed. Press blueberry puree through a fine wire sieve to remove seeds. To the puree, in a large bowl, add sugar, buttermilk, and vanilla. Stir until well blended.
Pour blueberry mixture into freezer container of ice-cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
* 1 14 oz. bag of frozen blueberries, thawed, may be substituted for fresh.

Enjoy!

DH would love this ... if you go up to the Catoctin Mts. i Thurmont, north side there are a couple of fabulous orchards up there & you can pick or buy the BIGGEST blueberries you've ever seen, sweetie ... & they are far cheaper than the ones in the stores ... they freeze well, also.
Have a lovely weekend.

That sounds absolutely delicious. Now I need to find someone to make it for me.
Marydon -- I will have to try that place. Usually, we go right here to Butler's Orchards. The kids like the wagon ride out to the field. :) Since seeing the size and quality of home-grown blueberries, I never by store-bought. But not everyone has a good resource, that's why I waited for the grocery stores.
Gonna make it Sunday! Thanks for sharing!
M-M-M-M looks good. Will give it a try soon. Thanks.

This sounds delicious and easy. Now I will go out and cheer on my two new blueberry bushes to produce!
Thank you for sharing this with us, Renee. I adore blueberries and have a lot sitting in the fridge as I type. This sounds delicious and refreshing.
XO,
Sheila :-)
