Now look.
My kids haven't been to school since the morning of Friday, February 5th . . . more than 10 days ago. I can barely remember that far back. All that has happened. And not happened.
No "going outside" to play. No bikes to ride. No toads to catch. No friends to visit. No Christmas presents to soak up extra time . . .
No unmeasured time to peruse the blogs. No quiet in which to write a thoughtful post. No "good" talks on the telephone. No unrushed cups of coffee. No unaccompanied trips. anywhere. I haven't been alone in ten-and-a-half days. Understand?
There is now a 2 hour delay in the start back to school today. Why? No reason. Literally. One inch of snow was forecasted yesterday. Blessedly, it never came. Now, for the sake of all that is good and holy, we need some routine. We need . . . school.
Puleeez!

Oh, Renee..I can relate to this..When the kids are home, you love them, but you also struggle to find time to breathe for yourself..Mine are back in school now after four days..
Hope all is better soon!
Checking in before I'm MIA for a bit. Hopefully when I check back your world will be right side up again! LOL! ;-)
XO,
Sheila
So are you saying your ready for your kids to get back to school LOL?
Oh dear!!!
Cute post- I laughed through the whole thing! LOL

Hahahaha. Sorry, too funny... but feeling your pain!
all I can say is thank goodness The Man is home today or we might all end up looking like coneheads~bald and pointy heads!
Oh, I'm so sorry I whined when my boys were out two days (four including the weekend). You deserve an award...or is that a reward? Thank heavens mine are teenagers and I can walk out of the house by myself for a couple of hours!
Put those children on the bus and fix a cup of coffee and eat your whole box of Valentine's Day chocolate!

LOL! I had three days and was really to go nuts with one little boy!! hehehe!
YES ! I understand and have been heard to utter the words "You need to get back to school" many times.
What a BIG sigh you can have when they have gone - I might even hear it here !
I feel your pain. This made me laugh. Good illustrations too. Here's hoping for relief soon.
Renee', no matter how bad things get you always seem to find the humour in it. I love that about you! I hope you get some 'private time' soon!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and leaving your very kind comments. Your encouraging words have helped more than you know and just knowing that 'you know' is a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course I'm entering you in the give-away . . . I wouldn't have it any other way!
Hugs to you dear friend,
Teresa
I do remember thinking that my life would be in the house, with the kids..., forever. But, they go back to school, grow up, leave and then the time of "OMG, I can't take one more minute of this." becomes a distant memory.
Spring will come and you will survive.
Just found your blog and I will call back now I'm following you. I relate to this - no matter how much we love them we all need 'me' time. And yet - you miss them when they grow up. I have a 10 year old and a 28 year old, who is about to get married! I miss him like hell is all I'm saying, so take a breath and enjoy them while they are still at home! x
