Repost: Chilling Questions

Right now, I'm not in a mind to conjure up anything new to write about, so I thought I would repost something from last year at this time.  Since my blog had fewer than 20 followers then, it will be new to most all of you. . . Here goes:

I lose a little more respect for my family each time I clean out the refrigerator.

No really.

Who lives like this? Who?

Are we a pack of raccoons?

Squirrels?

Who saved all this stuff? And who wasted all this stuff? For example, not one, but two jars of applesauce-- moldy? Two?? One is bad enough, but two?

And who bought the tube of pesto? A tube. Of pesto. We're more of a "pour and go" family. Jars. I buy toothpaste in tubes and that's about it. And bigger tubes than that.

And all those little ketchup and mustard packets? Do we really think we're going to use those? We're really going to dig those out from under the giant ketchup bottle that rests on top of all those pitiful, little packets? Sure we will. And how did those get in there in the first place? Perhaps they spawned from the ketchup and mustard bottles, together, right next to each other. I don't know.

All questions for minds quicker than mine.

And here's another one . . .

How does all that lint get in there? Who is changing their clothes in the refrigerator!?

That's not that far-fetched, you know. The smell that prompted this latest cleaning tirade conjured images of my son's wadded up socks smoldering in the lettuce crisper.

It turned out to be the butter.

Don't ask me. Quicker minds, I told you.

Wonderful, insightful questions that I asked myself a few weeks ago as I remove the luttuce drawer to find a dried banana peel with a rubber band around it and peanuts turned dark brown and brittle in a sea of white powdered something or other.... and dog hair. DOG HAIR. How? Why?
Questions with no answers......

Great fun - oh my fridge needs cleaning out... but it was my mother's that was the best - upturned mouldy halves of lemons & grapefruit on saucers...little packets of butter from hotel breakfasts, bowls of beetroot etc etc

Laboring on Labor Day, I see. Our fridge has packets of soy sauce and Taco Bell fire sauce. Jars of peppers, and such. It's not me! I rarely go into the thing unless I'm aiming for the pitcher of tea!

From one owner of moldy applesauce to another...I'm afraid I'm usually the one who purchases all of these wonderful things with the intent of creating yummy meals, only to forget they are in my fridge until 4 or 5 years later. I'm not proud...just forgetful!

Not often do we find problem in the fridge ...

How have you been? We are winding down on the construction on the new house & our master bath here ... not doing much tapping into blogs.

Isn't this weather fabulous?

Have a beautiful weekend ~

Your son might put his socks in the lettuce crisper? He he! funny image! (I recently found my reading glasses there, I have to admit!)

LR, too funny. You make me laugh. Wish I had answers to your fridge questions, it will be interesting to see if your other readers have better insight into this phenom.

My sister has a cat. One littl cat. And I frequently clean out her fridge. When I get to the very bottom, I always find cat hair. I don't even want to know how it gets in there. Not to mention horific odors that test the gag reflex. But isn't it fabulous when it's all done?

So glad your visit to my blog prompted me to come here today, I needed the laugh. Take care, Keri

Oh you crack me up!!! How did I miss this post???? I hate cleaning the fridge. I hate seeing all the money I spent on the food turning that icky color of green. Thank you so much for the good laugh today. I think we are twins separated at birth. Okay, maybe not (I'm lots older than you)but we are an awful lot alike.
hugs
